The promenade and marina along the shores of Lake Charles boast sweeping views of the lake. A nearby spray-ground keeps the kids cool in the summer, and lovely brick and ironwork along the promenade is picturesque and perfect for a sunrise or sunset stroll. The only white sand, inland beach in Louisiana is North Beach, also located along the shores of the lake, right next door to the tourist bureau at 1205 N. Does Lake Charles, Louisiana have a beach?
Yes! Southwest Louisiana has numerous beaches. In Lake Charles proper, there are three. The popular beachfront off the Downtown Lake Charles Exit 29 and one at Golden Nugget and L'Auberge Casino Resorts. Along the Creole Nature Trail All-American Road, there are two primary beaches. To the Southeast is Rutherford Beach and to the Southwest is Holly Beach.
